Admission SOP

Vidyadhiraja Vidyapeetom Sainik School — standard operating procedure for AISSEE-based admission from registration to joining.

Admissions to Sainik School are conducted through the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The process below reflects our institutional standard operating procedure from registration through seat confirmation.

Eligibility

  • Class VI: Candidates typically aged 10–12 years (as per AISSEE notification for the academic year).
  • Class IX: Candidates typically aged 13–15 years (as per AISSEE notification for the academic year).
  • Candidates must meet nationality, medical, and documentation requirements published in the official AISSEE brochure.

Process at a glance

  1. Step 1

    Register for AISSEE

Parents/guardians complete online registration on the official AISSEE portal when the notification is released. Select Vidyadhiraja Vidyapeetom Sainik School as your preferred institution and pay the examination fee as prescribed.

  2. Step 2

    Appear for the entrance examination

Candidates sit for AISSEE at the allotted centre. The examination assesses aptitude and scholastic readiness for Sainik School education in the applied class.

  3. Step 3

    Merit list & category norms

Results and merit lists are published as per Sainik Schools Society guidelines. Seat allocation considers AISSEE merit together with our reservation policy (Home School and External quotas) and applicable priority categories.

  4. Step 4

    Medical fitness test

Shortlisted candidates undergo medical examination as per Sainik Schools medical standards. Only medically fit candidates proceed to counselling and admission.

  5. Step 5

    Counselling at the school

Report to the admission desk on the dates communicated, with original documents for verification. Counselling covers quota category, seat availability, and fee schedule.

  6. Step 6

    Seat confirmation & joining

On successful verification and fee payment within the stipulated timeline, admission is confirmed. Joining instructions, uniform, and hostel formalities are shared by the school office.

Documents typically required at counselling

  • Birth certificate and Aadhaar (candidate and parent/guardian)
